​Free Inspection: The program starts with a free, no-cost wind mitigation inspection to identify necessary home improvements.

 

Matching Grant: If you proceed with approved upgrades, the state provides a grant of $2 for every $1 you contribute, up to a maximum of $10,000. For example, if you spend $15,000 on upgrades, the program would cover up to $10,000 of the cost, and you would pay the remaining $5,000.

 

Home Improvements: Recommended improvements may include strengthening roof-to-wall connections, reinforcing the roof, installing secondary water resistance, and upgrading windows and exterior doors.

 

Insurance Discounts: The program also helps homeowners receive insurance discounts for the hurricane portion of their policy.
